How to Quit Smoking Cold Turkey

o quit smoking cold turkey mean stop smoking all-at-once. That's it. It ends here and now. If you want to be very precise about it, it also means that you aren't using any aids, like nicotine patches, gum or the like.

And, like any type of smoking cessation programs, your ability to quit smoking will depend upon your sincerity to ending your smoking habit -- for good. This article is for those needing to stop smoking... now.

Your Mindset
As stated above, you need to have yourself committed to quitting smoking immediately. No stalling this time; this is it. So, set yourself to quit smoking by making the initial decision. That's the easy part. Now, it's time to prepare yourself physically.

This Is The Time To Begin Eating Better
You know this, right? Have a good, balanced diet and your body will work better. Eat some raw fruits and vegetables, take some Vitamin B-12 (check with your doctor first!), drink a glass of orange juice a day and this will cut your cravings when you quit smoking cold turkey.
Remember to drink about 6-8 glasses of clear, fresh water, too, as this will flush your body of those toxins from smoking all those years! (Yes, initially, you will have to go to the bathroom a lot, but as your body gets used to the water coming in, your body will get used to it and you won't have to go so often.)

Do You Exercise?
Many people think that they need to "keep active" when they quit smoking. This isn't so. You don't need to be busy all of the time.
However, you do need to get your body toned and thinner. And exercise is the best way to do this. A high level of exercise is excellent for releasing those "good-feeling" endorphins into your system. You will feel better, you will have your mind off smoking, and it's a lot easy to quit smoking cold turkey.

Have Your Support System In Place
Without a good support system, it may be harder for you to quit smoking cold turkey. So, plan ahead. Contact your family, friends, and even some online support groups. These groups are filled with many persons who are trying to end their smoking habit. They will help you on your journey to becoming smoke-free.

Success Or...
Unfortunately, when one tries to quit smoking cold turkey, it doesn't always work. Perhaps, you may need some additional help like some herbal pills or patches (not the nicotine ones) to get you through the "rough times". Whatever it takes, right?
